Session 1 Discussion - Videoconferencing

This week our group talked about the innovation practice of videoconferencing.

With the society and technology developing, we think that the videoconferencing will be used frequently in our workplace. In this information age, it is particularly importent for us to deal with all the matters effectively. Then the audio transmission sometimes may not meet our need ever. Because of the benefits of face-to-face talking, videoconferencing combine the video and audio which we think it's a innovative practice. So, on somehow, some leaders of an organization can save the time to handle more matters. And also, this effective innovation practice can not only save the cost for the transportation and the rental of meeting room, but also contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions.

Obviously, vidoeconferencing is a innovative practice. Before this innovation, people usually hold the traditional meeting like all the participates coming together in a hall and talking about something that they should deal with. Or some popular way like telephone communication that all the members can only listen to the voice from a telephone machine. Or all the participants watch a video that has been made before the meeting which we think just like watching a movie instead of communicating with all the members. However, Vidoeconferencing is different. Because it supports the technology that no mater where the participants are, they can just have a meeting through the video conference. What amazing is that the voice and face can demonstrate simultaneously through this innovation. Just put the video and audio transmission together, this videoconferencing become true. It's also obviously sustaining innovation.

Without the limitation of time and space. Videoconferencing develops the organization working efficiency. What's more, in the future, this practice will not only used by company or government, the school will use it as an innovative educational tool. In this way, the bad weather will not be the barrier of the class if all the students attend the class at home.

However, this technology can be improved by combining other technology like sharing multi-media which we can write some important idea it and show it on the screen we share.
